Breakthrough || Changmin & Yunho

Jeju Island; at last.

The relaxation was much appreciated, both from work and from things in general. The last couple of months had proved to be the most tense and the strangest period of time Changmin had ever experienced with his manager, if the ups and downs of his pestering Yunho for attention, Yunho’s harsh remark on his appearance, his own running away and Yunho saving him from being seriously hurt or worse were any examples to go by. In honesty, this kind of unstable work relationship was something that worked for Changmin. For someone who got bored easily with both activities and things as well as people, he needed constant excitement to keep him interested. And okay, Yunho wasn’t exactly the partybringer himself, but Changmin’s deduction was that since the man got paid to deal with his model’s misbehaviour, he had no reason to hold back on the misbehaving.

But then Yunho only dealt with him and provided the necessities; what Changmin sought after was indulgment. In all honesty, his flings with people both out of and within the agency were in no way sporting a low number — but still. It wasn’t necessary to state that Yunho was an extremely attractive man, but then so was Changmin; and it also went without saying that the fact that his own manager wouldn’t give his physical appearance more attention past that which was required of his job bothered Changmin; a lot. His gaze shifted, pulling from it’s admiration of the sky to fix on Yunho as they basked in the warmth of the heated pool at the Shilla Hotel, relaxing after a long flight all the way from Seoul; and a slow lazy smile crossed his lips. “You should tell me something cheesy about how I look good in the moonlight or something, hyung, the mood demands it."

It’s been a long while ever since Yunho’s gotten the opportunity to enjoy his solitude properly, even if he isn’t exactly alone at this moment. Speaking of, he can’t seem to be able to recall the last time when he’s sat down with Changmin alone without any sort of tension – though things are, thankfully, pretty much worked out after he has successfully dragged Changmin back from the runaway incident which could have escalated into something worse. The awkwardness remains for a while after, but knowing them, it’s almost non-existent by the following week when Changmin ranted on about the latest shoot that Yunho scheduled him for – involving something along the lines of cursing the designer to lose all his inspirations, to which he responded to with silence, as usual.

The liquid tips as he grazes a thumb absentmindedly along the curve of the glass, and his attention is drawn back from his brief reverie which he’s slipped into unknowingly, while Changmin is up to his normal self. Yunho settles himself comfortably into the warmth of the water, shifting his line of vision upwards in a mindless attempt to discern the night skies of Seoul and Jeju, before an audible sigh lifts the silence.

"The mood was pleasant and for a moment I was hoping it might stay that way; clearly not, though. Then again, it’s not something that’s unexpected, coming from you.”
